Navy night scene leather bag
I wanted to come up with designs to help me use even more of my scraps so here’s one of the first batch of my pictorial leather bags. I wanted to include the natural raw wavy edge of the leather rather than cutting it off - so the green has a clamp mark…see picture 5. I added tiny 5mm silver rivets to look like stars in the sky.
It is made from new industry waste leather - so that's leather destined for landfill, because it was a small offcut or it has a flaw. The back and base are a dark glossy navy leather. The moon and mountain are suede side of the leather upwards, for added texture.
It has a long adjustable seatbelt style webbing strap - crossbody (84cm and 150cm). I could make it shorter if you prefer. Silver coloured hardware. Night sky themed fabric to line. Zip closure . One internal zipped pocket. Detachable leather suede tassel.
PLEASE NOTE that because this bag is made from leather waste, there may be imperfections in the leather. This doesn’t detract from the bag’s beauty and reminds us of its sustainability.
