Princess sleeping bag coat (nylon feel)
PLEASE READ ALL THIS INFO BEFORE BUYING.
I made myself a Looney Tunes coat from a vintage sleeping bag (see second pic) and I love it. I made more - one for my daughter and a few for friends, including a Disney Princess version - see pics
I wanted to give others a chance to have one. My price includes the cost of the sleeping bag (which varies of course), the lining, zip etc and the fee for my upcycling/altering into a coat.
The sleeping bags are all different in feel - some are cotton based, some are the more nylon modern sleeping bags, and some have a peach feel. They’re kids’ size so that limits the size of the final coat I can make.
NOTE: I will make these up as I receive the order - so they will be a little wait while I make your coat (up to 2 weeks).
SIZING: I will make the biggest boxy jacket I can. This sleeping bag is plain on the back (so the coat will have plain pink sleeves). It is a modern nylon feel. I think the finished jacket would comfortably fit a 10-14, and hopefully a 16. I’ve include pics of the measurements of my jacket but this may be slightly smaller. The jacket will have pockets.
QUESTIONS? It is absolutely fine to message me first with questions about sizing….bigger or smaller, shorter, shorter sleeves etc. And we will probably email a little before I start.
I made my jacket about the maximum size I can achieve from a double sided sleeping bag I think but we can certainly discuss possibilities. I could probably make the sleeves or body slightly longer (but probably not both). I have included pics of measurements of my finished coat.
NOTE because this will be made from a vintage sleeping bag and lined with old bedding, there may be signs of wear to the fabrics. This doesn’t distract from the fun, unique vibe of the coat and reminds us of its sustainable ethos. The inside collar is usually made from reclaimed corduroy trousers.
